Эта группа из Финляндии в настоящее время является одним из лидеров современной скандинавской металлической сцены. Коллектив возник в Хельсинки в 1990 году стараниями гитариста Эзы Холопайнена (Esa Holopainen) и барабанщика-клавишника Яна Рехбергера (Jаn Rechberger). К ним присоединился поющий гитарист Томи Койвусаари (Tomi Koivusaari, экс-АВНОRRЕNСЕ) и басист Олли-Пекка Лайне (OlIi-Реkkа Laine).
